I had a great birthday! Mike woke me up before going to work and gave me my card and money to buy me some new clothes and he said that is all the money can be used for not everyday things. Michelle and Alex took me to the English Rose Tea Room for a fancy Mother, daughter, and "grandson" lunch. I had asked Mike not to have a big party for me on my 50th birthday. Mike and Michelle did get together some great friends for dinner. I had said I wanted to go to Out Back but we didn't go to the one at Hamilton Place we went to the one at North Gate and I wondered why but it was because that was closer for Linda and John. Dianne and Austin came also, Brian wasn't able to come because he had a meeting at church, one that Todd had to go to also so he wasn't able to come either. I wasn't mad at Mike and Michelle since they kept it small and did a good job of picking people to come since they are close friends. Being the big 50 isn't bad after all. What is the big difference in being 49 one day and 50 the next really. Why do us women worry about numbers anyway. You are only as old as you feel like you are. Some days I do feel 50 or more with my knee but I try to ignore it and feel young. My little grandson makes me feel young because I want to enjoy him and my family as much as possible. If I want to pretend that I am 30 something I can right. Josh says that I am 30 something so I am going with that, thanks nephew.

Rainy Days in TN

It's raining it's pouring the old man is snoring make that old woman too. Mike and me laid down on the bed for a minute yea right two hours later we woke up. Just wanted to let everybody know that the doctor's office called Mike Thursday and told him that the doctor felt like the shot did help some and scheduled him to get another shot on April 6th. He is not looking forward to getting more shots but if it is helping he is willing to get the two more. Mike starts back to work on Monday so pray that everybody goes good for him since he will be changing departments and having to train for 6 months. We are driving to Alabama in the morning for Mike to preach at the campground. We are glad we decided not to go camp because it has been so rainy and they are calling for more tonight. Mike got a turkey this morning so he is happy on opening day. We ate this one so it will not be adorning the walls since there is no more room anyway. Well I will close for now. Love to everybody!

Sorry it has been so long since I updated what has been going on. Last weekend we went to the Whitestone Inn Bed and Breakfast compliments of our wonderful daughter on the other side of the world. Mike, me, Michelle, Todd, & Alex had a wonderful time as you will see in the pictures that came from Michelle's camera because we forgot ours. You can see more pictures on Michelle's blog. On Michelle's blog she failed to say what a wonderful meal we had on Friday night especially how much she enjoyed what she ordered. Michelle being the adventures one that she is decided, why I don't know, to order the eggplant parmesan. Lets just say that she was very sorry that she made that particular choice. She was making terrible faces while Mike and me ate delicious steak and Todd ate delicious chicken. While we ate that Alex was really enjoying his first mashed grapes and lemon sorbet and biscuit. Michelle or any of us had no problem eating the to die for Whitestone Inn specialty dessert. The place was beautiful and they make you feel like royalty. On a another note we had a answer to our prayers today. Mike got a call from the VP at Mesa and was told he was to report back to work on next Monday. He will have to go to another department and be in training for 6 months and take a pay cut for a year but he has a job, praise the Lord! Mike is looking forward to what he will be doing and the work should be steady. Mike goes tomorrow for another hearing test to see if the shot in had in his ear helped any and if he will get the next two shots or not. Well I better go to bed now.

Busy Day But A Good One

This morning I went to the chiropractor. After that I came home and picked up Mike and we went to a meeting called Chattanooga Matters. Mike had been before but I had not. Each time there is a different speaker talking about things that could make Chatt. better, it is a christian organization. This time was a very interesting but sad topic. The speaker was talking about human trafficking mainly teenager girls. It was sad because they said they most start at age 12 and are runaways or have been kicked out of their homes or think they have meet someone on the Internet who loves them. The statistics were very sad. the two men who spoke are trying to start something in Chattanooga to help this girls and some are boys also but mostly girls who fall into this trap and don't know how to get out. They said that Atlanta is the worst place in the USA. Michelle, Todd and Alex were there also. After the meeting Mike, Michelle, Alex and me went to lunch at a different kind of restaurant. Michelle and Mike had been there before. You pick out what kind of meat you want and vegetables and sauces and give your bowl to the cook and he cooks what you give him and they bring it to you. It was different than any place I have ever been but was good. I am just not use to putting raw chicken, fish, beef, pork or whatever in a bowl and giving it to someone to cook for me. After we went there Mike and me went to a store for a little bit then we came home. We were here about 45 minutes then it was time to go to church. Alex was so cute and good even though we all took him in and out of his car seat and Mommy fed him in the car twice and in the bathroom once. Grammy got to keep him in the nursery and he was fine to till the end almost when he got sleepy, hungry, and he was also not feeling great because he got his shots this morning when he went for his checkup. Well I am going to close for now because I am tired and have probably bored anyone who reads this. Goodnight to everybody. If my sisters read this we are looking forward to seeing you this weekend. Hello From Guntersville Lake

We are here camping on the lake in Langston, Alabama. We have had a good time just doing nothing pretty much. We got here Friday night and are leaving tomorrow to be back in time for Good News club. Saturday we slept late and did a little fishing that day but the fish weren 't really biting. That night Mike cooked steak and french fries for our Valentine's dinner, it was great and we had left over Alex's 6 month birthday cake and french vanilla ice cream for dessert. Yesterday we went to church here at the campground and then went to eat with several people from church. We came back to the camper and changed clothes and went to the Eagles Nest (rec. hall) and learned a new card/marbles games from the head pastor here and his wife that is very popular here. It was Gay the wife and me against Jim and Mike and we won four games to the men's three. We got back to the camper at 10:00 after starting to play at 3:00. We had no idea we had been sitting there that long playing because we were having so much fun. This new game we learned is called Joker and is played on a special table that you move marbles around on according to your cards you draw. This is going to be a new project for Mike to build us one of the tables where we can practice at home before we come back to the campground. We haven't done much today. It is colder and the wind is blowing so we couldn't fish because the lake was white capping almost. I did beat Mike 2 games to 1 in Skip-bo. We went and rode around Guntersville Lake State Park which is only a few miles from us. Now we are just hanging out here in the camper because it is cold outside. Well Mike wants to do something on the computer now so I will go for now. Just wanted to give everybody a update on our life of luxury. Love to everybody!
